Scotland prop Murphy Walker will make his first appearance of the season as he returns from injury among 11 changes for Glasgow Warriors' clash with the Bulls in Pretoria.

The 24-year-old takes over at tighthead from Lucio Sordoni, who started the 40-9 win over Zebre a fortnight ago.

Head coach Franco Smith has selected an entirely different pack, with Walker - who has hardly featured for Glasgow during Smith's time because of injuries - joined in the front row by another international returning from injury, Jamie Bhatti.

Hooker  Grant Stewart will make his 50th appearance for the club as he takes over from Gregor Hiddleston, who has a calf injury.

Having both appeared from the bench in Parma, Gregor Brown and Scott Cummings are the starting lock pair, while Scotland trio Matt Fagerson, Rory Darge and Jack Dempsey link up in the back-row.

The four players who retained their places from the Zebre win are all in the back division: captain Kyle Steyn, centres Sione Tuipulotu and Stafford McDowall, and fullback Josh McKay.

Sebastian Cancelliere returns on the left wing in place of Kyle Rowe, while the new half-back pairing comprises George Horne and Tom Jordan, who are in for Jamie Dobie and Ross Thompson.

Smith said:  “Training this week has been highly competitive, with everyone focused on producing our best performance tomorrow afternoon.

“The Bulls provide one of the sternest tests in the URC; they have one of the strongest home records in the competition at Loftus Versfeld, as well as a blend of physical forwards and dynamic backs.

“We know that we will need to be at our best to compete tomorrow, and everyone is looking forward to the challenge.”
