Edinburgh Rugby have today announced the signing of Western Force and Australia 7’s centre Solomoni ‘Junior’ Rasolea on a two year contract.
The back joins as Alan Solomons seeks to reinforce the centres following the announcement that Scotland star Matt Scott is off to Gloucester.
24 year old Rasolea has represented Fiji at U20 level, played for Australia Sevens and has turned out 28 times for the Force scoring on two occasions.

Having played for Australia in the abbreviated game his nationality is now tied to Australia so can’t be seen as a ‘project player’, however he will no doubt be a welcome addition in a problem position for the capital side.
What do you think about the signing? Let us know in the comments below.
Here is in action scoring for the Force.
Is be auzzie or Fijian
You’d have to ask him!
Lol
He’s definitely not Scottish and I think we undermine ur international aspirations with the number of overseas players. Sadly its part of the modern pro game . . .
We’ve 4 world class centres already in the Scotland squad so I doubt this signing is gonna make much difference to national aspirations.
He’s rubbish tbh.
As long as he doesn’t become “qualified” to play for Scotland…
You’ll have to wait a bit… I’m sure if they can’t find some relative they’ll do it on a DNA test… bound to be some salty old Scottish semen ( sorry seadog) from way back when 😉
There’s the residency time rule, that’s the bit I object to! Nel, Strauss – shouldn’t be playing. Likewise various Pacific Islanders, Aussies, NZs, SAs for other home nations.
Did the announcement not say he was tied to Australia as he has played 7s, so he can’t be seen as a ‘project player’?
Serve me right for not reading through! I think players should be tied if they played at any age group for a national team.
I agree Alan if a player has played for a country at any level they should be tied to that country. Then we wouldn’t have lost Tommy (Tommaso) Allan
We could do with a good no. 2 stand off.
So what?
Good for Edinburgh but maybe not so good for Scotland.
I have heard about sending busnseis card, E-card but I never have been heard about sending holiday card. I like this article very much and also like the idea of it very much.
