It had been widely and reliably reported that the Stirling born forward would be moving to the European Champions at the end of the season. Whether his ongoing injury issues blocked the deal, or he had a chance of heart, is impossible to tell. Either way his presence will be a big boost for Alan Solomons and the Edinburgh faithful as they attempt to build on recent progress.

Everyone involved will be hoping he can regain fitness following an injury ravaged 2 years since he was named as Vern Cotter‘s first Scotland captain.

He becomes the second lock to commit his future to the club in as many days with Fraser McKenzie signing a 3 year contract that will mean the forwards remain well stocked.
