Scottish Exiles Reach Out To Beleaguered London Welsh Supporters

London Scottish Rugby Club have offered free entry this weekend to all London Welsh season ticket holders following their team’s expulsion by the RFU.

The English governing body’s decision this week to revoke London Welsh’s professional status, and banish them from the second tier Greene King IPA Championship with immediate effect, comes following months of uncertainty caused by financial issues.

This has led to scores of players and coaches effectively unemployed, but little has been made of some of the biggest losers – the heartbroken fans, for whom the loss of their team was further compounded by the loss of their season tickets.

Having suffered the same fate themselves back in the 1999 season (when they were sent from the Premiership nine leagues down to the very bottom, before working their way back up) fellow Exiles London Scottish are offering their Celtic brethren’s season ticket holders free entry to their game against Yorkshire Carnegie at Richmond’s Athletic Ground this Saturday.

For this one-off special offer, Welsh supporters should show their season ticket at the box office and will be presented with a free Clan ticket in return.

What do you think of the show of solidarity? Don’t forget to comment and share this with any London Welsh Fans you may know.
