Stuart Hogg Wins Six Nations Player Of The Championship For 2nd Year Running

The RBS Six Nations Player of the Championship has been awarded won to a Scotsman for the second year in a row.

That player is none other than the Melrose’s favourite son Stuart Hogg.

The swashbuckling fullback won the award, which is voted for by the fans, by a huge majority of 24.6% – with a staggering 29,734 people giving him the nod.

Having received the same honour last year, he becomes only the second player ever to win back-to-back awards – the other being Ireland’s legendary centre Brian O’Driscoll in the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

The other players featured in the shortlist are certainly impressive, compounding just what an accomplishment this is.

CJ Stander came in second place with 14.9% of the vote. Third place was awarded to Louis Picamoles with 12.8% of the votes, followed by Joe Launchbury (8.9% of the vote).

Scotland’s other entry to the shortlist was Finn Russell, who impressive performance was recognised with the fly-half finishing fifth (8.3 % of the vote).
