A Year Out – Our Predictions For Scottish Representation On The British & Irish Lions Tour

#9 Huw Jones: Possible

Prior to the 2017 tour Warren Gatland was asked to name which Scotland players he liked the look of. The only players he was able to namecheck were Hogg and that “Jones fella”. Not ideal, but on the plus side he clearly knows who Huw Jones is, so that’s something.

The former Stormers and now Glasgow centre has had a decidedly mixed 24 months going well off the boil at the tail end of last season - culminating with a Rugby World Cup omission. But since then he’s been putting in some more solid performances and, whilst he hasn’t reached the dizzying heights of his debut 5 games, it might not take too much for him to put his hand up. He also has the advantage of having played Super Rugby in South Africa.
