Jack Mann has become the latest Glasgow Warriors player to sign a new contract and commit his future to the club.

The back rower made his professional debut at No 8 in the win over Bath last season but he broke his leg while playing for Glasgow's A team against Scotland U20s in January as part of their preparations for the Six Nations.

He is continuing his recovery and is likely to return before the end of the season and rejoin Franco Smith's squad. Mann has also previously played at U20 level alongside the likes of Murphy Walker, Angus Fraser and Rory Darge.

He's excited to get back to playing and hopefully run out at Scotstoun soon and believes that Glasgow are building something special.

He told the Warriors website: “I’m really excited for the opportunity and I’m really keen to keep building here at Scotstoun. The support I’ve had from everyone while I’ve been here is fantastic and we’ve got a really good group of boys that are all keen to drive each other forward.

“For the club to put their faith in me like this is massive, and I really want to reciprocate as much as I can. Whether that’s on the pitch or helping those selected be in the best possible position, I want to do everything I can for this club and this team.

“Having guys like ‘the young team’ – if we can still call ourselves that! – is also absolutely brilliant for me. To have a group of friends like that makes coming to work that much more enjoyable, and it’s just a great time to be a Glasgow Warrior.”

And Smith added:  “Jack is a player that we believe has a great deal of potential and we’re looking forward to working with him to continue his development.

“He has been unfortunate with his run of injuries, but every time he has worked hard and put 100% into his return to play process with our physios and S&C team.

“He is someone that will give everything to help his team-mates and he has all the attributes to help make him a real asset for this club.”
