Duhan van der Merwe has been named as one of four players nominated for the Guinness Six Nations Try of the Tournament.

The Scotland winger is fresh off being nominated for player of the championship and he could make it a double award by winning both.

He’s nominated alongside France’s Nolann Le Garrec, Ireland’s Calvin Nash and Italy’s Lorenzo Pani for the award.

It’s Van der Merwe’s hat-trick try in the Calcutta Cup that has earned him the nomination. The brilliant effort sees Finn Russell play a brilliant kick wide and Van der Merwe runs through to touch down.

It was the Edinburgh star’s fifth try of the tournament in an impressive performance at Scottish Gas Murrayfield where he dominated in the victory over England.

Le Garrec’s try also came against England and was a brilliant bit of flair from France as they ran the entire length of the pitch and there was a terrific dummy from Leo Barre before he handed it off for the score.

Ireland’s try from Nash came up against Italy and was another excellent team effort as they played right across the field while having an advantage.

Jamison Gibson-Park plays the final important pass to Nash who skips past the final Italian defenders to finish it off.

The final try up for the award comes from the Italians and it’s another superb team try that starts at a lineout against Wales.

Monty Ioane breaks the lines to skip through and then plays it to Pani who sidesteps the Italian defence and gets across the line.
