Scotland duo Ewan Ashman and Gregor Brown have reacted to the "dream come true" after becoming Lions.

The duo were both late call-ups to the British and Irish Lions squad and made their debuts yesterday in the 24-19 win over a First Nations and Pasifika XV.

Fresh from being drafted in, Brown was summoned from the bench with 25 minutes to go, replacing James Ryan. Ashman then came on for the final six minutes.

Both picked up their first caps and the latter wrote on social media this morning: "Dream come true. Proud to be Lion."

In a separate post on his own account, Brown said: "Still not sunk in yet, unforgettable couple of days and a dream come true."

A factor that was perhaps contributing to that unforgettable feeling was the fact the Glasgow Warriors star was taking to the field alongside a family member - cousin Blair Kinghorn.

The pair made their first Scotland appearance together just months ago, and reacting to the latest special moment post-match, Kinghorn said: "It's mental.

"I don't think many families can say they have done that - it's awesome.

"My family were here supporting him as well so it's a really proud, special moment for us."
